Of the islands we offer, Vashafaru lies the farthest from Male. It’s located in the north, almost at the end of the archipelago, more than 300 km from the airport, on the Haa Alif (Thiladhummathi) Atoll.
A beautiful, intimate island, still unspoiled in terms of tourism development. Its population is only around 300 people, there are only 3 hotels on the island.
Vashafaru has wide white beaches, a long spit at the end of the island -Vashafaru-thundi, space and peace.
The island is almost 2 km long and only 220m wide and is boomerang-shaped.
Transfer
Transfer to the island is possible only by air, which means that from Male it takes approximately 45 min to fly from the domestic airport, located 20 m from the international airport. Of course, we provide pick-up from the airport and assistance in making the transfer.
The flight guarantees unforgettable views of the Maldives from above and is a great additional attraction – the cost is about 250 USD per person, both ways.
It’s good to take into account the characteristics of this transfer when planning flights to the Maldives. Although there are more than one flight every day, getting to Male in the morning can be difficult and you’ll have to consider arriving in Male a day earlier and an overnight stay in the capital if the departure’s in the morning. The same applies to arrival in Male – in this case it’s best to choose landing in Male as early as possible. A hotel representative will pick you up from the local airport in Hanimaadhoo and take you to the destination island by speedboat (approx. 20 min).
Accommodation
On the island of Vashafaru, we offer a stay at the Blue Coral Vashafaru – the facility, completed in 2019, has 6 spacious, island-style rooms, each room has its own bathroom and air conditioning, all rooms are on the ground floor, while the restaurant is located on the first floor.
Available rooms have double or twin beds, with a possibility of an extra bed if three people stay in the room. All rooms are Deluxe standard.
Due to the fact that Vashafaru is not a commercially developed island, we recommend choosing the full board option. Apart from local shops where you can buy fruit or sweets, you won’t find too many options for eating lunch. The hotel serves hearty, delicious meals prepared with fresh ingredients. Between meals, you can also order snacks (e.g. mix of fruits) to take to the beach or a fresh coconut to sip in the heat.
The bikini beach with umbrellas, sunbeds and hammocks is just a 5-minute walk away.
